My baby sister got married this past weekend.  It was such a fun weekend and the wedding was perfect!  She’s 13 years younger than me and it’s hard to believe that she is now married.  Makes me feel old.  It also encouraged me to finally complete this list, a bucket list, of things that I would love to do, see, and accomplish in my life.  Time goes by so quick!  Not that writing down a list necessary makes them any more likely to happen, but it is fun to dream and start the “how’s” of accomplishing some of these.  We have also started a “Family Bucket List” which we, as a family, are writing down things that we want to do together (I’ll share it sometime as well).

I encourage you to do the same, either a personal list or as a family, because it is so much fun!  Here’s my list…

Stay in a yurt

Hike to machu  picchu in Peru

Become fluent in Spanish

Find the time to train and race in a half triathlon

Camping trip  in an Airstream

Visit Jungfrau in Switzerland (ride the cog railroad and the Sphinx Observatory)

Heli-ski (actually heli-snowboard)

Visit Bolivia, especially La Paz and the salt flats

Compete in a Mud Run

Patagonia

Publish an article in a magazine

Get paid to write

Ride a zip line

Go to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore

Take a llama trek

Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland Canada

Finish my basement

Start a nonprofit/ ministry for children

Go someplace so dark that the Milky Way actually casts a shadow over the land

Belize

See Norway’s fiords

Guest post on a blog

Go to Torres del Paine Nation Park in Chile

Bring my children on a Mission Trip

Visit the High Line in NYC

Go to Banff National Park

Climb the Gunks with my kids

Torngat Miuntains National Park in Canada (you need a polar bear guide!)

Well, that’s my list for now.  I could go on and on, but these are some of the big items that I often think about.  My common theme seems to be travel which means  I need to switch jobs or come into some money fast!  I think most of them are pretty obtainable, except probably for my dream to see Wicked…
